Why we stay back?

Have you noticed that our body actually starts losing its defense mechanism after we have been here long enough in the US? We used to be unaffected by mosquito bites, drinking impure water etc... till we were in India. But once we come here and get used to the conditions here long enough, we seem to be losing the defense mechanism our body had. I have seen lot of people complain about that. Once our body gets used to luxury it just cannot seem to take even a slightest discomfort.

This probably is the main reason why Indians who come here don’t want to leave. This is especially true if they have a kid. I think it’s really painful for a parent to see their kid go through what they went through especially when they have everything here.

Of course there is always an argument that our culture is better etc... But you know what - Not many are going back. If they go, most of them end up coming back.

It's a nice topic for argument. But if you do a reality check, you'll see that most really do end up staying back.

But who knows? Things might change in the future.

Any country has its pluses and minuses when it comes to the quality of life. Wherever we are if we have the right attitude to see the pluses, we can lead a happy life. Some Indians that are non residents wonder about the life in India. Some Indians that live in India wonder about the life in the US. No one wants to have a major change in life when they are happy with the way things are going. Certain incidents can be life changing, causing people to take the big step. In other cases, people are just happy and carry on with their lives.

Going back a decision for the brave. Here the brave is the tenacity to weather the shift back to our original culture, expectations and ofcourse relative adjustmet to welcome some discomfort in every aspect of life.

Second going back is also dictated by family circumstances etc.

The final reason is the one that tells you oh my child has got everything here and I do not want him to go back and suffer what I underwent. This is a chickening out reason for most people.

But the truth is children are the easiest to adjust (depending on the age) to new conditions, go and make new friends and quickly assimilate to the new environment.
Yeah, their immune system is not well tuned. But I will tell you that this immune system in the body will fight and come out of it in a matter of time.

So the bottom line is that the adults do not want to leave their comfort zone which I do not criticize here. That is ones own choice. But truth of the matter is that to go back one should be brave enough to weather the storm for a while before settling in.
