Email vs Voice communication

Have you been in a circumstance where you write something in the e-mail to somebody and the other person misinterprets it because of the way it’s written?

I have always found that, if possible, it is better to talk face to face instead of communicating through email. If you observe carefully, any sentence can be interpreted in different ways with different tone of voice. So if a topic is very sensitive, then I think it’s better to communicate through voice than through email. Also an email is a legal evidence in case you type something bad in a fit of anger. It's something irrevocable.

I heard recently about a new email system called 'self destructing' email ,which would basically leave no trace of where it originated.

Isn't this interesting?
