Indians and Tourism

Indians have a penchant for touring places. I have been to many famous tourist attractions in US and Europe. One thing you can count on for sure is that you’ll be sure to see fellow Indians wherever you go. I guess it can be partially attributed to our population size.

Here are 2 things I cannot forget that clearly shows how we Indians dominate in many tourist places.

1. We went to Switzerland for our honeymoon. We had to travel for a long time to go to the highest point in Europe called Jungfrau. To our surprise there were so many Indians tourists out there. So many that somebody decided to start a samosa stall out there.

2. We went to Niagara few months back and we saw so many Indians out there. There were so many of them that one of the Americans inquired my family whether there was any Indian carnival that weekend in Niagara.

Have you noticed the same ?

I have seen Indian everywhere we have been so far. When I went to Beijing, China five years ago, I was told there were six popular indian restaurants in the city :-) Also, when we went to a most remote part of Maine, we saw a big group of Indians.

You know what they say, every sixth person in the world is an Indian :-)
