My Dilemma

I walked into my doctor’s office for my yearly medical checkup with a lot of apprehension. I knew in the back of my mind that my triglycerides are high and I expected the doctor to confirm the same.

The doctor came in and went through my blood work reports with a lot of enthusiasm. There were 5 pages of it and she went through page by page. I saw her skip the third page in the process and I immediately knew it was not a good sign. She usually informs the bad news at the end. As expected she returned to the 3rd page after the 5th, moved her chair a little bit closer, and informed me the bad news. As usual she prescribed me TRICOR and asked me to start on it immediately.

I have gone through the same chore for the past 4 years and just like the last year I went back to google to look at the side effects of TRICOR. I had done the same thing last year and know it does have some nasty side effects. I just wanted to make sure that nothing has changed and as expected nothing had changed. So as I am typing this mail, I have this hope at the back of my mind that I can reduce it through exercise and diet just like I did last year. May be I am right.

What if I am not? Any Advice?

My mother had similar problem. In fact worse, she had her gall bladder removed 5 years ago which led to the fatty deposits. The dreaded attack happend and luckily she survived. After that she went on strict diet and ate 2 raw garlic cloves every night after dinner. She was twice over the limit when she started within couple of months it was all back to normal. Garlic has no side effects apart from smell.

All you need is routine and diet. If you have done it once, I am sure you can repeat it again. Have you kept any notes from your last diet or exercise. 'coz that can help you.
